About

Planning across generations.

FutureNest Financial was founded on a simple belief. What a family builds should be protected and passed on deliberately, not left to chance and the tax rules.

Yan Charitar

Senior Advisor

Yan Charitar studied Criminology and Sociolegal Studies at the University of Toronto, on a path towards law. He went into financial services instead, but the grounding stayed with him. Estates, trusts and succession are legal structures first, and knowing how they are built is what makes them possible to plan around.

He entered the industry at twenty-two and has spent eight years in insurance. His work centres on incorporated business owners and their families: corporate insurance, estate planning and succession, and the question of how value moves from one generation to the next. He also works with growing families who want protection in place early.

Yan is not a lawyer or an accountant, and does not give legal or tax advice. He works alongside the professionals who do, so that the insurance and the structures they design hold together.

Philosophy

Three convictions behind every plan

  1. Plan for the next generation, not only this one.

Most planning stops at retirement. Ours looks further, to the moment your children inherit, and works back from there.

  2. Clarity before products.

We explain the problem and the options in plain language before anything is recommended. If insurance is not the right answer, we say so.

  3. Work with your advisors, not around them.

Tax and legal structures are the work of your accountant and lawyer. We coordinate with them so every part of the plan holds together.

The best time to plan is while every option is still open.
